Trinacria
Sicily
Embark on a musical journey to Sicily! Originally from Palermo, this trio draws inspiration from tradition to color their music, which evokes the island’s atmosphere, blending the sea breeze, sirocco, and urban excitement. Their lively and joyful creations, filled with humor, combine the powerful rhythms of Sicilian percussion, such as the tammorra and tamburello, with the poetry of their dialect. Their repertoire touches on timeless themes of exile, death, and love.
Trinacria was the name given to Sicily by the Greeks in the 3rd century B.C., due to the triangular shape of the island: three promontories, three points. United by their common musical experience, Trinacria has performed at numerous festivals and theaters over the past fifteen years, driven by the energy of ever-generous audiences, inspiring them to explore new paths. Their repertoire is made up of original compositions inspired by their Sicilian culture, to which they pay homage by performing some traditional songs. They have chosen to highlight the poetic aspect of the Sicilian dialect, using metaphors to address themes that remain relevant today.
